I hope Herr Paul isn’t proved right. I’m not sure I’d enjoy watching Brazil v Argentina in the final. Interesting selection for surprise package from Herr Neil. I think Ukraine could either bottle it and come away pointless or perform in a similar fashon to Greece in Euro 2004.
No mentions for the Czech Republic or Netherlands. They are both at their most dangerous when written off.

I’m surprised nobody has chosen Australia as their surprise package. If they can sneak through their group I think they could do very well.
If we can avoid Brazil I think England stand a very good chance of winning the competiton and Brazil look like they may have a difficult second round game (the Czechs or the Italians, unless the USA can surprise us). If it’s not England though, I’ll copy Wes and say it’ll either be the Czechs or the Dutch.

Herr Paul would also like it to be known that Luca Toni is also a good bet for Golden Boot. An all South American final could be a brilliant affair, but let’s hope England can do the business against Brazil.

I don’t see how an all South American final could be brilliant. Have you ever seen South American football on Channel Five in the early hours?
My dream final would be Saudi Arabia v Croatia.

Luca Toni has been on fire in Serie A this year, becoming the first Italian player in the post-war era to score more than 30 goals in a season and the first of any nationality since Antonio Valentin Angelillo in 1958/59.
I dream of a USA v Iran final, with the losing team’s president having to give a public congratulatory speech to the winners, then I’m flying but I start falling and I scream and no words come out.
