Prison Predictions: final instalment!

by Jimu

This is the final instalment of Jimu’s predictions for Germany 2006. To read how the following teams made it this far, please click here.

Third place play-off

England v Czech Republic
The result cannot be confirmed as nobody watches the game; not even the managers of the sides involved.

THE FINAL

Argentina v Italy 2-3
Claudio Gentile, Dino Zoff & World CupFirst-half: In what will be described as ‘the meeting of 2 pythons on a rope-bridge overlooking the chasm of death’ the men with the waft of cheat hanging over their well coiffured barnets will triumph in a feast of midfield chess on grass. Although Argentina take the lead through Carlos Tevez, Italy reply sharply from a corner through Luca Toni - his third goal of a mildly successful tournament. As half-time approaches, Sorin is straight red-carded for a neck-high roundhouse kick aimed at Juan Pablo Aimar on the bench, but this does not stop the Argie-bargies from regaining the lead through a nasty own goal from Alessandro Nesta (details of which are too bizarre to print here.)

Second-half: There is a lull in what is described as ‘the action’ for 25 minutes before the Italians equalise a second time through Alberto Gilardino after good work from supersub Simone Barone. With a man advantage and the wind in their jackets, there is only one outcome, and Inzaghi seals it by blasting in an already goal-bound Toni shot on the line and claiming it entirely for himself. What a way to win!! This of course occurs in the 94th minute.

Jesus. This has such a ring of truth to it I’m thinkng of bailing out of the whole thing right now. Thanks.

  2. Wes Truth says:

A straight red for a neck-high roundhouse?! Blatter’s directives have ruined the game.
