Midsummer Vindaloo!
by Herr Mark
Tuesday evening, and everyone leaves work early to get the best seats for the England game. And this time Herr Hippo lets his editorial staff out in time to enjoy the football on the Samsung big screen, rather than keeping up with the action on Ceefax like they normally do. This was a rare night out for the boys, who normally stay home to hone their syntax, pore over football stats and pedantically argue in ‘online’ football forums. It was a tense and exciting night as England challenged Sweden for the top spot in Group B! Come on England!!
Pictured above, the boys go berserk as Larsson’s 90th minute Swedish equaliser smashes 60 million English dreams. Left to right: Herr Mark struggles to keep down a forfeit glass of cherryade; Herr Ed’s España 82 anecdote is interrupted; Herr Neil realises his bet on Nicky Butt to score first was a waste of money; Herr Paul furiously disagrees with Venables’ punditry; Herr Danny is thrilled to see that Jimu has finally been served at the bar; Herr Andy bears the brunt of the flash.

Herr Neil needs a lesson in decorum and civil sensibilities. No tie and his shirt is unbuttoned, in public no less.

Is that someone’s better half in the background?

bollody eh yeah, that’s my missus Pauline, she said she was nipping round her mothers! What’s she doing there?

I’m glad Herr Ed’s España 82 anecdote was interrupted. It’s been told too many times and it wasn’t even funny in the first place!
Don’t worry Bill - it looks to me that some scoundrel has photoshopped that picture of Pauline in. The shadows don’t work.

I reckon it is Herr Colin in a wig.
