Predictions update!

Now that just eight teams remain in the tournament Herr Hippo thought he’d give his team another chance! An addition to these updated predictions is the ‘Golden Ball’, which is awarded to the best player at the World Cup, as chosen by journalists. Herr Colin was a bit late with his:
1st: Italy
2nd: Brazil
3rd: Argentina
4th: England
Golden Ball: Riquelme
Golden Boot: Ronaldo
Lev Yashin: Oh, I don’t know

I think Herr Colin should have the default prediction for the Lev Yashin award - Oliver Kahn.

Yes, that’s who I would have picked, if Herr Ed had given me more than 3 minutes to work out the combinations of potential finalists and runners up as well as work out what the Lev Yashin award actually is.

Lev Yashin award - Worst free kick of the tournament
June 29th, 2006 at 3:07 pm
Becks has got to be in with a shout for the worst free kick award. I can remember at least three of his pinpoint/aimless balls into the box that haven’t cleared the first man.

I think you are forgetting about the US’s footie savior, Landon Donovan, and his inability to hit any dead ball correctly in this Cup
June 30th, 2006 at 10:17 am
I don’t think Donovan hit any balls right, dead or otherwise.
Henrik Larsson’s penalty was also a pretty awful dead ball moment.

The predictions for World Cup winners are looking good.
